| Homoeopathy |
| Homoeopathy is a curing method, which is based on the principle of similarity. It´s name derives from the greek terms homoion (similar) and pathos (suffer) and was established by the founder of scientific homeopathy Dr. Samuel HAHNEMANN, who practiced as a physician, pharmacist, chemist and translator (born 1755 in Meißen, Germany, died 1843 in Paris). |

| The homeopath`s task therefore consists of finding a simile (a similar) or similimum (the most similar). For this he/she requires a detailed description of the patient`s symptoms including the findings and medical approach of recent treatment. This normally takes time and in cases of chronic illness it may be necessary to conduct a homoepathic questionnaire, registering not only the accuring ailment but also past illnesses and those of relatives. This practice of case analysis, whereby the homoeopath makes thorough recordings, is a main characteristic in homoeopathy and is essential for the homoeopath`s work in gaining a complete impression of the patients personality and momentary state in order to find the exact and adequate remedy. The patients are asked to support the homoeopath`s study of their illness by offering as much information they can. Even information which may seem to be unimportant, ridiculous or even embarassing. From this entire symptomatology and in accordance to the principles of similarity, the homoeopath chooses the most important and striking facts in finding the appropriate cure. In some cases of protracted illnesses, which have been subject to a lot of medical treatment, this can be a difficult task, and a genuine art of healing. |

It might surprise you but substances of daily use like sugar, salt, vinegar, nutmeg or fine herbs are also applied to medical use. Through the process of dynamisation substances attain medicinal potency, which in their original state have hardly no curing power or even toxic effect (e.g. arsenic, prussic acid etc).
There are three different kinds of dynamization employed in homoeopathy, each differing in the compound relation of drug and solvent. There is a:

| Homeopathic remedies sometimes produce remarkable reactions. The patients are therefore asked to observe and write them down because of their importance for the course of treatment. In many cases one remedy is not always sufficient, others may have to be added to the treatment to succeed; however, there will only be one remedy administered at a time. The american physician Constantine HERING found out that the healing process shows the following regularities:
